Pound for Pound Champ Manny Pacman Pacquiao is set to fight the current Puerto Rican WBO Welterweight Champ, Miguel Angel Cotto on November 14, 2009 at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. This will be the projected fight of the year because both fighters are on their prime, both are also included in the top 10 boxers alive today as per rated by the Ring Magazine, both are never been boring-to-watch inside the ring and nonetheless, both fighters have their countries' support on their back. Pacman is determined to capture his 7th title in 7 different divisions; but on the other hand, Cotto promised to finish the fight with still his belt on his shoulders. Both fighters admit that it will now be an easy fight.

I, myself, made this blog to give my analysis, an share it to my co-boxing enthusiasts.

Manny Pacman Pacquiao
For me, the most apparent adavantage of Pacman is his speed and footwork. I don't think power is on his side in this division. Pacman is set to capture his record-breaking title. If Pacman wins this fight, he will be the first boxer to capture 7 titles in 7 divisions. Currently, Pacman ties with dela Hoya for 6 captured titles in 6 divisions which is for now, Pacman is also a record holder for boxing. Boxing analysts said that when you talk of Pacman, you are not talking about the greatest fighter today, but you are talking about the one of the greatest fighter that ever lived. Well, that would be hyperbolic, but blame not me, them. Last three fights of Pacman were of Diaz, dela Hoya and Hatton in which two of them were when he captured 2 titles and one was against the mighty Golden Boy in where he was the biggest underdog of the year. In those fights, Pacman showed the world that as he fight bigger fighters, he had more power. Determination, heart: there's no question Pacman has these stuff, but the biggest question for Pacman is that, can he absorb the power Cotto have considering that Cotto is the much bigger fighter? How damaging can the punches of Pacman inflict on Cotto?

Miguel Angel Cotto
The big underdog. For me, size and power is the advantage of Cotto. Fighting bigger fighters all his life, he is up to the challenge of beating the best living fighter. He started training for this fight weeks before Pacman did and that would be his advantage. So far, Cotto showed more determination than the Pacman. As one of the news article said in USA, "Cotto: Training, Pacman: Movie-Making". This proud Puerto Rican is one on a century fighter combining power and intellect. Among his famous fights were that of Mosley, Margarito and Malignalli, in which those fighters were much much bigger than Pacman. Cotto is not new in big fights and he knows what it feels winning big shots. This time, he cares not for the P4P king, but for the millions of Puerto Ricans supporting him. He is a hero in his native land and he will not let Pacman put some thrash on that. The biggest question is this, can Cotto match Pacman's speed and intensity inside the Ring? Is his skill enough to defeat the P4P king?
